Prognostic factors in NHL

Prognostic factors in NHL

In patients presenting with NHL, prognostic factors provide a method of assessing the likely course of the disease and help drive treatment decisions. In clinical trials they provide a method of categorising patients that enables the effectiveness of treatment regimens to be assessed.

An effective prognostic model should be accurate, complete, simple, validated and universally used. In NHL, commonly used prognostic indices are the International Prognostic Index (IPI) and the Follicular Lymphoma International Prognostic Index (FLIPI).

The IPI is the prognostic index for aggressive lymphomas
